Nudist  Etiquette

These are some generally accepted rules of Nudist  Etiquette.

o  Respect the environment, yourself and others.

o  Obey Parking Regulations and other posted rules.

o  Help With Litter - bring along a trash bag. Carry out more litter than you create.

o  Don't Go Out of Established Nude Areas. To wander nude onto a clothed beach or parking
area will offend many and may break the law.

o  No Overt Sexual Activity. Leave exhibitionism to those attending clothed beaches.

o  Respect the Property of Others.

o  No Photographs - if you are interested in taking  photos, you must have prior consent in the form of written permission from the
owner/manager of the facility or club and photo releases must be obtained from all persons included in the photo prior to taking the photo.
The best policy is DO NOT BRING YOUR CAMERA TO ANY NUDIST AREA - no photos.

o  Privacy Is Fundamental. Many are at a club or beach for quiet time. Body language should tell you "do not disturb".   It's not wrong to
look for new friends - but it is "rude to intrude"  when you're unwelcome - use common sense.  Information, names, occupations are
private - respect the privacy of others and don't disclose this information without consent of the persons involved.

o  Come Prepared. Bring beach supplies: beverage, food, sunscreen, towel. Borrowing in an emergency is OK, but don't make a habit of
being ill prepared - it's not a cool way to make friends.

o  Speak Up for Standards. Don't let some newcomer (or anybody who doesn't understand the situation or our values cause trouble. If you
are uncomfortable because of another persons behavior - speak up - be polite but firm - do not allow overt sexual activity, littering, or over
use of alcohol or drug use.

Taking The Plunge

We are going to assume that you are interested in trying nudism for yourself. Here are some tips for making your first nudist experience as relaxing, fun and enjoyable as possible -

Find the right place to visit - Beach, Resort or local Club - you decide....

The best way to do this is to locate any groups/clubs/resorts in your area.  Visit their Webster, call for more information  - or write to them  - when writing - be sure to include a self-addressed stamped envelope for the reply - it's polite and saves much-needed funds.)  Many private clubs prefer meeting members at a clothed event for the first time - but each group is different - you will find one that is right for you.

It's more fun to go with friends
If you're married, by all means go with your spouse. If that's not possible,  take a friend of either gender. You can go alone if  you want, but you'll probably enjoy the experience a lot more with some companionship. (Also, you should know that some private nudist facilities will not admit single visitors - generally, this policy is applied to men more than to women. And many facilities frown upon one-half of a married couple attending alone. This policy has changed somewhat in recent years - but it's best to check in advance before showing up at a resort or club and being turned away because you are "single".

Review Nudist Etiquette

The Nudist lifestyle is built on respect - for fellow nudists, for non-nudists, and for the environment. Review Nudist Etiquette and contact each club or facility for more information prior to your visit.  Most club/resort websites post their listing of protocol - but if you aren't sure you understand - please ask -interest in the appropriate behavior will be very much appreciated.

Be prepared

Bring a towel, nudists always sit on their own towel for reasons of hygiene - you will also need a a good sunscreen (SPF 15+), reading material, sunglasses, food & beverage, etc.,  make sure you don't forget anything - once you are undressed, you won't want to get dressed again and make a trip "out" to the car! (And remember - take your trash out with you when you leave!)

Allow plenty of time

You're not going to want to leave!  It's best to devote a day or more to your trip. Give yourself time to get used to this new experience and and enjoy it to the fullest!

Make sure to pay fees, obtain permits, etc.

Check Club/Resort policy regarding fees.  Make sure you pay your fair share - after all, you will want to visit again.

Relax!

You are about to have one of the greatest experiences of your life!  Just be yourself - Smile and leave your cares and all your stress behind.  It won't take long for you to be comfortable in nudist surroundings - Some people find they don't wish to remove all their clothing at once, but you will soon  feel at home - nobody is staring at you making you the focus of attention - everyone is relaxed and having fun.  The point of this experience is to be yourself, be comfortable - you will soon find that you are actually nude and you are enjoying yourself.   It's easy to be friendly!  Have Fun - and Relax!   Enjoy!

Congratulations! You're a nudist!  (Isn't it Great?).   You're already making plans to come back, aren't you?
